I am not feeling my best today. And of course, it just HAS to be a Monday (perhaps the most dreaded day of the week).
Have you ever felt like doing this...
...because you have so much work that your desk already looks like this?

When problems like conflicting deadlines, non-delivering suppliers and failed reports all happen at the same time, it's time to bring out the stress balls or at the very least, something to stuff between your clenched teeth so you can scream in silence! Mayhem at the workplace is quite common. Mayhem on a Monday with colleagues who are either panicking, missing or just plain sick (as in down with some virus) is one that I would like to avoid at all costs. I can think of a million reasons why stress is bad for one's health! It can cause wrinkles, cancer, heart attacks and tantananaaaaa...vaginal yeast infection! Yupyup! So don't think that you can only get VYI from tight clothing, perfumed soaps and the like. Each time you feel like tearing your hair out or emotionally breaking down, you increase the chances of acquiring VYI!
And how does this work exactly? Well, normally, the acidity in the vagina keeps the level of yeast low. But when the body feels stressed, the acidity levels drop and the body then starts to produce a higher number of yeast that eventually can cause the infection.
So when all hell breaks loose in the office, before my hair starts standing on its own and pimples start popping left and right, I like to shut my door close, take several deep breaths and imagine I'm here...
PARADISE!
That's an aerial shot of this gorgeous resort in Maldives, my dream vacation place! Just look at how ridiculously clear that water is! And with miles and miles of soft, white sand to dig your toes into...AHHHHH!! I can practically feel the breeze on my cheek and the sweet, intoxicating taste of a cold Pinacola on my tongue! Somehow, in one way or another, (but mostly I blame it on my vivid imagination), picturing myself prancing around this island always seems to chase the Monday Blues away. I highly recommend spending a few minutes just visualizing yourself in your own happy place next time chaos at work strikes.
Then again, you can always play this song and start dancing!
Take Care!
